We leave Edinburgh in the morning and head north towards the stunning Kelpies. We pass Stirling and take in views of the towering Wallace Monument and its' stunning Castle. Listen to stories about the insane events which have taken place in this area throughout history. Enter into the wild Scottish ....
We leave Edinburgh in the morning and head north towards the stunning Kelpies. We pass Stirling and take in views of the towering Wallace Monument and its' stunning Castle. Listen to stories about the insane events which have taken place in this area throughout history. Enter into the wild Scottish Highlands, passing the medieval stronghold of Doune Castle; featured in Outlander and Game of Thrones.
Our next stop is eerie Glen Coe; one of Scotland’s most iconic and dramatic landscapes. Hear the harrowing tale of the 1692 massacre of Clan MacDonald, as you soak up the epic scenery. Tonight, we’ll stay in the bustling fishing town of Oban; enjoy fresh seafood and dance the night away at a traditional Scottish ceilidh – the best way to bond with your new tour buddies. During winter, from October to March, we travel to the Isle of Skye through the Highlands, taking in epic mountains, lochs and glens. Get ready to take the ultimate shot of the impressive Glenfinnan Viaduct, often referred to as the most beautiful railway in the world. We pass the iconic Eilean Donan Castle and head towards the Isle of Skye, where we will be spending the night in the picturesque town Portree. (Overnight: Portree)
2024 SUMMER ITINERARY (from 1st April - 23rd October 2024):
Look out for Ben Nevis – the tallest mountain in the UK – as we journey north past Fort William. Prepare to be awestruck by the rugged Highland scenery, and star struck by the Glenfinnan Viaduct; also known as the ‘Harry Potter Bridge’.
On summer departures, you have a chance to be a wizard for a day and travel on the famous Jacobite Steam Train* aka ‘Hogwarts Express’ made famous by Harry Potter, followed by a ferry to the Isle of Skye – look out for dolphins!
We spend the night on the Isle of Skye, where we’ll gather in a local pub, where you can sample some local ales, whiskies and banter!

Today, we explore the enchanting Isle of Skye. Famous for its otherworldly scenery, clan history, and legendary myths, Skye is a big tick off your bucket list! Immerse yourself in the magic of Skye; marvel at waterfalls, ancient mountains and insane coastline, while listening to tales of Vikings, ancient monarchs and mischievous faeries.
Returning to the mainland on the way to Loch Ness we take in the views of the incredibly photogenic Eilean Donan Castle and wind our way along the Great Glen to Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands*.
*From April 1st 2024, we visit the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre to learn about Scotland’s ancient Caledonian Forest before making our way to Inverness.

During winter, from November to March, we have the option to take a boat cruise on the legendary Loch Ness* before heading northwards to the lovely wee town of Beauly. Used as a filming location for Outlander, the ancient ruins of Beauly Priory date back to 1230AD. We complete our day with a visit to Culloden Battlefield where we learn about the bloody history and defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite’s in 1746. (Overnight: Inverness)
2024 SUMMER ITINERARY (from 1st April - 23rd October 2024):
This is your final Nessie spotting opportunity. During our summer departures, you have the chance to take a cruise to hunt for the elusive monster of Loch Ness. If boats are not for you, take time to explore the Loch and canal by foot. Our drive takes us through the stunning beauty of the north-west Highlands and onto the picturesque town of Beauly with its historic Priory dating back to 1230. Today Beauly Priory is better known for its showcase in Outlander season two as well as burial site to members of Clan Fraser. Next, we stop at the eerie moor at Culloden Battlefield, to hear tales of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the 1746 Jacobite Rising; the story which inspired Outlander. Next, we visit the mysterious Clava Cairns; a prehistoric burial site with standing stones which also inspired Outlander. We journey on into Scotland’s rugged and isolated mountains before heading back Inverness for our final night. (Overnight: Inverness)

Leaving Inverness, we visit the Highland Folk Museum to get a real taste of Highland life from the past centuries before heading to a local whisky distillery with a chance to taste Scotland’s 'water of life'. For our final stop we visit Dunkeld and take a walk through the quaint village, on to the River Tay and make a visit to the cathedral. We return to Edinburgh early evening.
During winter, from November to March, we kick off our final day with a visit to the mystical chamber cairns and standing stones of Clava Cairns, known to have inspired the incredible TV series Outlander. We make our way to a local whisky tasting to sample our best-loved national drink before returning to Edinburgh early evening.
