Day 1: Edinburgh to Cairngorms National Park

We leave Scotland's capital behind at 8.30am, travel over the new Queensferry Crossing on our way towards the mountains. We have time to stretch our legs up a wee hill with a big view before arriving at the Cairngorms National Park.

We take in Newtonmore's Highland Folk Museum before organising our group meal and buying supplies for the next couple of days in the mountains. We overnight in a cosy Highland lodge and enjoy a group meal organised by Gill, she may even convince you to try a wee taste of Scotland's national drink, Whisky.

Day 2: Cairngorms National Park

Today we head for the hills! After packing an overnight bag we are driven to the foot of some of the largest mountains in the country where we start our adventure and meet out Mountain Leader.  We start with a scramble to the top of Cairngorm itself.  As we walk Gill will give you an insight into the history and myths of the area.  We pitch our camp in the Lairig Ghru and hope that the Grey Man of Ben Macdui is in a good mood! Camping under the stars is the best way to immerse yourself in the wilderness of Scotland and your camp meal will be all the tastier after the efforts of the day.

Day 3: Cairngorms National Park to Edinburgh

Leaving our camp behind us, we traverse Braeriach summiting more dramatic peaks and making our way back down the glen to Aviemore where we will catch our breath and grab a last pint before making our way back down towards the civilisation of Edinburgh. After an energetic three days, we return to the capital approximately 8pm.
