Day 1: Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye

Tour starts at 8.30am. We leave Scotland's capital and head past the capital of Stirling, home to legends such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce and scene of many of Scotland’s most famous and bloody battles in the Wars of Independence. Our route north takes us through dramatic Glencoe, the ‘Weeping Glen’ and site of the massacre of 1692 before passing through the shadow of mighty Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. Travelling along the Great Glen fault line we then skirt the coast, see Eilean Donan Castle perched on the shores of Loch Duich before crossing the bridge to the Isle of Skye.

Day 2: Isle of Skye to Loch Ness

Today we explore the ‘Winged Isle’ or ‘Isle of Mist’ with its remote villages, awesome scenery and home to the legendary MacLeod and MacDonald Clans. Immersed in Celtic myths and Viking legends, tales abound with faeries, we explore the windswept landscape, sunning coastline and dramatic mountain ranges before we return to the mainland and on to Fort Augustus by the shores of mighty Loch Ness for a party in Mos Bar.

Day 3: Loch Ness to Edinburgh

We follow the entire length of Loch Ness, searching for a glimpse of the legendary beast and past Urquhart castle dramatically poised on its shores. Journeying on through Inverness, capital of the Highlands before turning southward to make our way to Dunkeld with its mighty Cathedral. Onward through Macbeth country before crossing the Forth Road Bridge and our return to Edinburgh.

Day 4: Edinburgh

Free time to explore the Capital. Why not start with The Royal Mile which runs from the Castle right down to the Palace of Holyrood House and the Parliament. As locals, we’ll be on hand if you need some tips on where to go and what to see as our crew are all more than happy to help out. Tonight, join 35,000 people for the Torchlight Procession where torchbearers march through the city. Then it’s on to our legendary HAGGiS ceilidh for a night of traditional Scottish dancing!

Day 5: Edinburgh

We kick off with the Aussie and Kiwi New Year with loads of fellow Antipodeans to celebrate with! Party on as the celebrations continue around the globe or take some free time to explore the capital and the Winter Festival. Then get ready for the main event, make sure you grab your Street Party ticket before heading to the best New Year celebration in the world! When the clock strikes 12 it’s your chance to kiss everyone you can get your hands on and wish them Happy Hogmanay!

Day 6: Edinburgh

If you’re brave, you can choose to add the ‘Loony Dook’ to your booking! Along with a thousand others ‘loonies’ you can brave the freezing waters of the Firth of Forth. Alternatively, why not fight that hangover with a climb of Arthur's Seat, a extinct volcano. It’s a bit of a hike but rewards you with amazing views over the city and on a clear day you can see the Forth Bridges and Highlands.

Day 7: Edinburgh

Check out of your hostel in the morning. Before you leave be sure to breathe in the last of that fine Scottish air and appreciate the magnificent views of the city before heading off on your travels.

Add at the time of booking:

The Torchlight Procession - Approx. £12/pp

Join 50,000 spectators and participants at the official opening of Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations. Being at the heart of the procession and carrying your own flaming torch gives a unique perspective and should not be missed. The number of torches is limited and they always sell out so add to your booking to avoid disappointment.
Note: Torchlight Procession is an outdoor event using wax-based torches and wax from torches can blow onto clothing when windy, please dress appropriately.

Loony Dook Transfer - Approx. £25/pp

Fancy watching the ‘Loonies’ take to the freezing cold water in South Queensferry on New Years’ Day? We’ll transfer you so you can take in all the action.

Loony Dook Swim - Approx. £11/pp

What better way to bring in the New Year than jumping into the freezing waters of the Firth of Forth. The Loony Dook is always a sell-out but you can guarantee your space by adding the swim ticket and transfer to your booking.
