BRAEMAR GATHERING
Aka ‘The Games’. This event is steeped in history and blue blood - believed to have been held by Malcolm III, way back in the 11th Century. These days Her Majesty the Queen is the patron and you may spot the rest of the Royal Family in the crowd, as they have traditionally been spectators since Queen Victoria attended in 1848. The annual Highland Games Gathering is held at Braemar in Royal Deeside on the first Saturday of September and it boasts the biggest pipers' parade in the country!
