Day 1 - London To Abergavenny
Leaving London behind, we head for the crystal clear air, majestic mountains and lush valleys of Wales. Crossing the mighty Severn River on a suspension bridge, we stop at Chepstow, the gateway of South Wales. From there the tour heads through the lovely Wye valley to Tintern Abbey, inspiration for Wordsworth no less.
Once spiritually satisfied, the tour continues East, to Caerphilly, with it's Edwardian castle dominating the sky line for lunch in the town. Sated, our guide will take you into the Brecon Beacons, to burn off a few calaries on a walk, before whisking you away to Abergavenny, the tours stop for a night, to sample Welsh beer and meet the locals.
Day 2 - Abergavenny To Caernarfon
Bibliophiles will be in heaven at our first stop, Hay on Wye, the town of books. Then it gets' a little historical as we continue to Builth Wells, and the site of Llewellyn the last. Heading North, the tour will skirt through the gorgeous Elan Valley and up over the fells of mid Wales, descending to the romantic ruins of Castell-Y-Bere, llewellyns castle.
Plotting our course for snowdon, we will climb the Llanberis pass to sneek a peek and the grand lady, before descending to the awe inspiring town of Caernarfon, where our hostel is in the shadow of it's world heritage site listed castle.
Day 3 - Caernarfon To London
Aural exercise abounds, as our driver takes you across the Menai Strait into Anglesey to visit Llanfairpwel etc...... A scenic drive ensues, along the old coaching road from London, through the snowdonia mountains. A quick photo and decision to decide if the ugly house is ugly, then down into Betws-y-coed, the walking capital of Wales. Heading South, our final stop in the land of our fathers is Llangollen, with a chance of a walk or a fulfilment of all souvenerial needs. Then it's back into England for a stop at auld Stratford upon Avon, birth place of William Shakespeare, one of the greatest Britons of all time, for a soneet and a drink, before heading back to London.
