Day 1: December 30th
The adventure begins nice and early at our HAGGiS office in London Victoria at 7.15am. Make sure you've got some munchies for the journey.
Say goodbye to London and hello to Edinburgh - Scotland’s Capital and party central! You will be dropped off at your hostel and home for the next couple of days by your guide at approx 6pm with time to grab a shower and freshen up ready for a welcome party and Ceilidh - a perfect way to get to know your fellow party revellers!
Day 2: Hogmanay
Today you will get the chance to explore our beautiful city on a walking tour with one of our Wild & Sexy local HAGGiS Guides! Now that you’ve worked up a good appetite it’s off to the Three Sisters Pub in the Cowgate to see in the Aussie & Kiwi New Year with big screen TV’s and loads of fellow Antipodeans to celebrate with. Lunch is a Hog Roast. Yeah, we know how to put on a good spread so get stuck in and fill up in preparation for the Street Party.
All fed and watered you have free time to explore the Capital, head down to Princes' Street Gardens to the Winter Wonderland or head back to the hostel to get dolled up for the biggest New Year party ever. Don’t forget, when the clock strikes 12 it’s your chance to kiss all and sundry and wish them Happy Hogmanay Scottish style!
Day 3: New Year's Day
No doubt there will be a few sore heads this morning but what better cure for a hangover than a Loony Dook! For the last 24 years South Queensferry has played host to the Loony Dook. Last year, hundreds of well... loonies, took to the freezing waters of the Firth of Forth. Many of them in fancy dress and all of them up for a good time! This event helps to raise thousands of pounds and with the impressive Forth Rail Bridge in the background, this obscure tradition is truly an event not to missed! (Don’t forget your swimmers and fancy dress)
After a refreshing dook you’ll have time to grab something to eat before heading back to the Capital where you can warm up with some Glühwein at the German Markets or try some of their hot cherry beer. The evening is yours free to explore what the Capital has to offer. From outdoor ice rinks and big wheels to spooky ghost tours, it’s up to you!
Day 4: January 2nd
After an unforgettable few days of complete party madness it's time to say farewell to Edinburgh and head back to the Big Smoke by coach, arriving early evening.
