Ceilidh Dancing whoo hoo!

Day 1: December 30th

It’s time to get New Years underway and say goodbye to the Big Smoke as we leave London by coach and head north to Bonnie Scotland! We arrive in Edinburgh (Scotland’s Capital) in the early evening.  You’ll have enough time to grab a shower and some scran (food) before heading to our legendary evening Ceilidh (traditional Scottish dancing event) where you’ll meet all our other Snogmanayers (people attending Hogmanay) and dance the night away with men (and women) in kilts.

Fire Works

Day 2: December 31st - Hogmanay

Today you will get the chance to explore our beautiful city on a walking tour with one of our Wild & Sexy local HAGGiS Guides!  Now that you’ve worked up a good appetite it’s off to the Three Sisters Pub in the Cowgate to see in the Aussie & Kiwi New Year with big screen TV’s and loads of fellow Antipodeans to celebrate with.  It would be a good idea to grab some food here and fill up in preparation for the Street Party tonight.

All fed and watered you have free time to explore the Capital, head down to Princes' Street Gardens to the Winter Wonderland or head back to the hostel to get dolled up for the biggest New Year party ever. Don’t forget, when the clock strikes 12 it’s your chance to kiss all and sundry and wish them Happy Hogmanay!

Loony Dook

Day 3: January 1st - New Year's Day

No doubt there will be a few sore heads this morning but what better cure for a hangover than a Loony Dook! For the last 25 years South Queensferry has played host to the Loony Dook. Last year, hundreds of well... loonies, took to the freezing waters of the Firth of Forth.  Many of them in fancy dress and all of them up for a good time!  This event helps to raise thousands of pounds and with the impressive Forth Rail Bridge in the background, this obscure tradition is truly an event not to missed.  (Don’t forget your swimmers and fancy dress).

After a refreshing swim in the sea, you’ll have time to grab something to eat before heading back to the Capital where you can warm up with some Glühwein at the German Markets or try some of their hot cherry beer.  Tonight we have a final farewell party in the city, so come along for one final fling with your new found tour mates (and guides)!

Edinburgh Crags

Day 4: January 2nd

Bid a fond farewell to Scotland as we take the coach back to London. Swap phone numbers, catch up on all the scandal and gossip from your trip and say a last goodbye to your HAGGiS crew.  We’ll have plenty of DVD’s and music to help pass the journey, arriving back in London in the late afternoon.
