Day 1: 23rd December
DEPARTS KINGS CROSS STATION approx 10.00am (arrive Edinburgh approx 2.25pm)Leave London by train and head northwards to the home of HAGGiS – Scotland! Accommodation in Edinburgh will be in one of the city centre hostels. After checking in, the festivities will commence at one or more of the capital’s finest pubs.
Day 2: Christmas Eve
After breakfast, we leave Edinburgh and head North into the magnificent Highlands with your very own HAGGiS crew guiding the way. We’ll travel through the snow capped Cairngorm mountains, pass the highland capital of Inverness and on deep into the Highlands to the magnificent Carbisdale Castle. After a sumptuous supper, Christmas Eve will be spent partying into the wee small hours. (Don’t be too naughty or Santa won’t fill your stocking!)
Day 3: Christmas Day
Christmas Day will never be the same again. After opening presents and a quick breakfast, we’ll depart for a tour of Scotland’s North West Highlands. Unlimited fresh air! No more hangover! Ruined castles, hairy coos and majestic scenery – The Highlands have it all. A few snow ball fights and snowman building attempts (weather permitting) will set you up for the slap-up Christmas feast and party awaiting our return.
Day 4: 26th December
Winding our way down the West Coast of Scotland back to Edinburgh in a leisurely manner, we’ll visit the monstrous Loch Ness, mysterious Glen Nevis and mystical Glencoe - areas that formed the backdrop to the movies "Braveheart" and "Rob Roy", then across the wilds of Rannoch Moor and down past historic Stirling arriving back at Edinburgh early evening. Just in time for a last chance to explore Edinburgh.
Day 5: 27th December
DEPARTS EDINBURGH WAVERLY STATION approx 2.00 pm (arrive London approx 6.46pm). Bid a fond farewell to Scotland, and take the train back to London. Swap phone numbers, catch up on all the scandal and gossip of your trip and say a last goodbye to your HAGGiS crew.
