HAGGiS Adventures Scoops 5-Star Award
The Radical Travel Group, best known for its world-famous 'HAGGiS Adventures' tours of Scotland, has just received a 5-star award for its tours from Scotland’s national tourism body, VisitScotland.
HAGGiS Adventures, with its distinctive yellow midi coaches, is Scotland’s first and most popular tour company for independent travellers. Since it was established in 1993, the company has always had a passion for and commitment to quality, and this award confirms its position as a world-class tourism operator.

VisitScotland operates a highly successful quality assurance scheme, with teams of inspectors working year-round to assess standards for visitors. Raising standards and improving quality are central to efforts to improve and grow Scottish tourism.

HAGGiS Adventures offers a wide range of exciting trips, from one-day to extensive eight-day tours of the Highlands and Islands. The company has always operated a guaranteed departures policy, and since 1993 has never cancelled a departure. HAGGiS Adventures has just launched a groundbreaking West Coast Explorer trip, which includes a whale and dolphin-spotting eco-cruise off the Island of Mull.
HAGGiS Adventures has also recently been awarded a Green Tourism Award, the first ever tour operator in Scotland to receive an award under the VisitScotland-approved Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Top Eco-Awards for Scotland’s Leading Youth Tour Operator
The Radical Travel Group, best known for its world-famous 'HAGGiS Adventures' tours of Scotland, has just received two prestigious environmental awards; Green Tourism Business Scheme Award and Keep Edinburgh Clean Award.
HAGGiS Adventures is the first ever tour operator in Scotland to receive a Green Tourism Award under the VisitScotland-approved Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS).
The GTBS is a groundbreaking environmental accreditation scheme for tourism businesses. The scheme designed to help businesses improve their environmental performance and protect one of Scotland's most important assets, its natural environment.
To gain a Green Tourism Award, businesses are graded against over 120 measures of best practice, reflecting a balance of environmental, economic and social issues. These cover everything from good management and communication, to efficient lighting and heating, as well as things like nature conservation, training practices, use of local crafts and produce, renewable energy and community support and involvement.
HAGGiS Adventures has also been awarded Gold member status in Edinburgh Council’s innovative Keep Edinburgh Clean awards.
HAGGiS joins only eight other businesses in the Capital to have achieved the top level of accreditation. The Keep Edinburgh Clean Awards recognise the efforts of businesses which go beyond the letter of the law to improve their local environment.
