Whisky, Waterfalls, Walks & Castles

A gorgeous 1 day tour of the highlands giving you the chance to sample some malt whisky, visit a Castle and take a wee walk in the Highlands – The perfect day out if you’re looking for a taste of what the Scottish Highlands have to offer.

We leave Edinburgh behind and head for the Highlands via Stirling, through the scenic beauty of the Trossachs National Park and the Highland village of Killin. We hear tales of Rob Roy and view the impressive Falls of Dochart, fed by the highest peaks in the Southern Highlands including the mighty Ben Lawers.

Then we journey alongside beautiful Loch Tay and visit a stunning 16th Century Castle.  Castle Menzies has been the seat of the Menzies clan for more than 400 years and was used as a resting place by Bonnie Prince Charlie on his was to Culloden in 1746.  From here we make the short journey to the small town of Aberfeldy for lunch, where you have the option to enjoy a Whisky Distillery tour* (entrance fee £5), take a 45 minute walk in the famous ‘Birks of Aberfeldy’ or simply relax and explore Scotland’s first Fair Trade town.

In the afternoon we head into the stunning heart of Perthshire and take a short woodland walk at The Hermitage (past some of Scotland’s tallest trees), to see spectacular waterfalls, Ossian’s Cave and the unusual Victorian folly.
