Loch Ness, Glencoe & Beyond

An amazing trip to Loch Ness and the chance to go Monster hunting! Heading north from Edinburgh we pass the imposing ramparts of Stirling Castle, skirt the Trossachs (Rob Roy country) before crossing the wilds of Rannoch Moor and onto dramatic Glencoe.  Our tour takes us past Fort William and Britain’s highest mountain, the mighty Ben Nevis before following the Great Glen and stopping in the village of Fort Augustus by the shores of the mysterious Loch Ness.  You have the option* to take a boat trip on Loch Ness, explore or simply relax in a gorgeous wee Highland village. Enjoy our free locally produced picnic lunch.

Our return journey passes through ‘Monarch of the Glen’ country, south to Perthshire and the historic town of Dunkeld. We then view the spectacular Forth Bridges before arriving back in the Capital around 8pm.

TOUR DEPARTS: 08.00am RETURNS: APPROX 20.00pm
Please Note: This tour is run in conjunction with our sister company Highland Explorer Tours.

> Optional Loch Ness Boat Cruise*

> Glencoe
> Dunkeld
> Free pack lunch (Typical lunch includes: bottle of Scottish mineral water, a choice of freshly made sandwiches, fresh fruit and shortbread)

*Loch Ness Cruise option.  A cruise on the mysterious and beautiful Loch Ness is an unforgettable experience, offering the chance to catch a glimpse of Nessie.  The Royal Scot is a locally owned custom built boat, designed specifically for sailing on Loch Ness.  It's equipped with the very latest hi-tech colour sonar and Olex 3D underwater imaging system, giving you a fascinating view of the terrain and life underwater.  You can relax with a coffee or beer in the onboard bar. Cruise duration is approximately 1 hour.

You can purchase your cruise ticket at the time booking or from your guide on the day.  Tickets booked through us cost £10 (a saving of £0.50p on the standard ticket price) and allow you to board the boat immediately on arrival in the village without having to queue (stand in line).

Please note this is a long day out with 320 miles/520km of driving.   If you have time, we strongly suggest you consider one of our extended tours, as the most common piece of feedback we get from our day trips is that people wish they could have spent more time in the Highlands and more time off the coach, which you get to do on the extended tours. Due to operational circumstances, this tour may run in reverse.

If you have booked as a student you will require to show your student ID at check-in.
